BIG 5 MISTAKES in business.
Downloaded the FREE report!
Every business owner wants to have a smooth business. By that I mean a business where things move forward and you make money.
Yet few make the effort to streamline the steps you need to get there.
“Why the hesitation?” I asked one business owner. And he said he just doesn’t have the time to make it simple. Isn’t that an oxymoron?
You want it easy and yet you don’t want to spend the time to make it easy.
That’s why I’m writing this post about small business work.
You need to structure your work to learn how to grow a business.
And this is the reason why I like small business coach Houston. I get a chance to help businesses through my business coaching services.
Now let’s take a look at the 7 steps to make your business work simple.

1) CREATE TASKS FOR A WORK MANUAL
Write down the top-level tasks for your business. It can include topics such as how to:
Manage the company
Create products
Make goods
Sell
Market
Ship
Do Finance
Do Accounting
Do Legal
Manage facility
Assign one person to write down the sub tasks. Then have the team run through the steps to see if the written description matches the work. If not, rewrite the task so it’s practical.
2) BUILD A CHART
Create a drawing to show how the work steps forward through the company.
This will get your teams to see how their work affects the company.
3) DELEGATE
Do you have a time management plan? If not, get that ready today before this step. Assign important tasks to the plan that make more money.
Then assign lower paid employees to do tasks ranked lower. This will give you more time to focus on sales.
4) TASK BREAKDOWN
Have people in your team write down steps for their tasks. Make sure they explain it clearly.
5) CARRYING OUT TASK
Get a different person to use the written work steps. That will make it easy to corroborate the steps.
Importantly, make sure it’s possible to do the steps without someone having to explain.
6) TOOLS
Keep the written content direct and simple. Use pictures and videos to make it easier to follow the steps.
7) UPDATE MANUAL
Every manual grows over time. Keep it active so people can get to it and update the steps if they change.
Taking these 7 steps will show you how to run your small business profitably.
And even if it takes long to finish the manual, you’ll boost business efficiency by delivering to customers consistently.
